Book Week Activities Recount
Yesterday, on the 19th of June, the whole of Glenbrae school enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters, presenting their book dioramas and presentations, as well as watching a show.
Last week was book week, so to finish off the interesting week we dressed up as our favourite or main character from one of our favourite books. Every student that dressed up paraded around the school hall, even the staff joined in. The most impressive costumes were awarded a prize.
To showcase our favourite books, we created book dioramas and drawings. Some dioramas were made with figurines, paint, cardboard and other materials. A junior class also made a big drawing of their favourite book, ‘Where the wild things are’ by Maurice Sendak.
At the end of the day, we were entertained by a show called the “Super Duper Show”. Two very wonderful actors presented a story to us about superheroes and books. From the act, I learnt that there are always superheroes around you that are willing to help you when you need them.
Overall I enjoyed all the activities, especially when we presented our dioramas. Since this was our first time doing this, I think it went pretty well. Hopefully in the near future our school will do this again.
